Yesterday was our 12th wedding anniversary. We’re pretty much broke so we didn’t really celebrate it but hope to this weekend when payday hits.
As usual, no one from either my family or Robert’s sent a card, email or called, nor any friends. Not that we were shocked – the bigger surprise would have been if some one did remember our anniversary.
It just is frustrating when I go out of my way to remember every birthday and anniversary for both our families and get bupkis in return. Not even a thank you once in awhile. Robert says I should just stop sending cards with handwritten notes inside and see what happens.
I like remembering birthdays and anniversaries since I know what it is like to have yours forgotten. Plus it was the way I was raised. Mom remembered every little occasion and sent cards out regularly.
Oh well. I guess I will just continue doing what I like and how good it makes me feel. And hopefully my card will make someone else’s day too.
