>Missing "Sculture Day" at school

>Today is Multi-Cultural Day at school. Charlie has been looking forward to “Sculture Day” all week. Yesterday Charlie told me all about Mexico on the way home from school. My sincerest apologies to Mexico and it’s citizens for what I’m about to write. This is exactly why Kindergartners should not learn about the Alamo one month and Mexico the next month.

Charlie told me that Mexico is mean because they would not let us be Texas. The Mexican Army came with their mean guns. He also told me that Mexico didn’t like the Lone Star flag.

I explained that Mexico is our friend now. That the war was a really really long time ago. Charlie did not seem to believe me but he moved onto other topics. Like what he had to wear to school today, a white t-shirt and jeans, and he was worried that he didn’t have a plain white t-shirt.

I knew Charlie didn’t feel well when he didn’t want a snack and laid down on the sofa. By dinner time he was out and running a fever, 101.8 degrees. This morning his temp was 102. So that means no school. Poor little man was crying his heart out. He had Daddy check his temperature twice within about an hour to see if he could go to school.

So I have one sick disappointed little boy at home today. I think we will make up for missing Sculture Day and learning about Mexico by having Taco Cabana for dinner. Tex-Mex all the way!
