I’m Officially a Gator!

I am excited and slightly terrified to announce that I have been accepted into the University of Florida’s graduate program! I received the email last Wednesday while eating lunch with Denise and Tarrent.  We were in San Jose, CA for the 2014 BlogHer conference.

This is an idea I’ve been thinking seriously about for since January. Robert and I talked about me going back to school off and on for years. At that time I preferred that Robert finish his Bachelors to me getting a Masters. degree. Things have changed (of course) and I’ve been thinking about going back to school but couldn’t find any area of study I was interested in.

I am enrolled in University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications Master’s in Social Media program. I’ve decided to start with 2 classes (6 hours) for now. The program is online which will be different for me. I am going to log in and do my work while Charlie and Myles do their homework after school. I know I’ll need more time than that but at least I’m guaranteed to check in daily.

Please keep me and Charlie in your prayers as I begin this new adventure. It will be quite a change for me! And a challenge to balance life with school. That being said, I am looking forward to this.
