>Fingerprint Friday….VBS

>

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it’s true
You’re a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you’re covered with the fingerprints of God

So look around you and see where YOU can see God’s fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?

This week Kiddo has been in Vacation Bible School (VBS) at a local church. This is his second week of VBS this summer. He attended a week in June at a different church. I actually found several churches that take 4 year olds, which is rare!

Anyhoo, I see God in the wonderful volunteers who work with VBS at their church. These women, men and youth are special in so many ways. They put a lot of work, planning, money and effort to make a great week for a large group of kids. VBS includes all ages from Kindergarten through 5th or 6th grade usually. For some kids, this is the first and only time they will be in a church or hear about God’s love for them.

VBS volunteers are special people. Would you take a week of your life (use vacation even) to teach a group of kids you most likely don’t know? And will never see again? Teach a class of 10 active 5 year olds for 4 hours 5 days a week? Run around with the kids outside during Activities time in the heat? Move from room to room following a schedule and try to keep track of the 10 kids, bathroom breaks, arts & crafts and everything else? Most importantly, show these kids how much God loves them and what He did for them?

If your child has ever participated in a VBS, be sure to tell his teacher “Thank You”. If you have ever volunteered and helped out during VBS at a church, I say “Thank You”. You have earned extra gems in your heavenly crown!
