>There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of God
when I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
and I know it’s true
You’re a masterpiece
that all creation quietly applauds
And you’re covered with the fingerprints of God
I see God’s fingerprints in my life when I look at my friendships over the years, specifically from high school.
I am so excited about this weekend. My best girl friends from high school are all getting together for a weekend in San Antonio. Well, actually only 3 of us can make it but quality, not quantity, is what counts right?
Quack Pack was the name given to us by I don’t know who back in high school. There are 7 of us, Michelle, Lydia, Suzie, Denise, Bev, Rachael, & me. We were all in band together, playing different instruments. Some marched & others were in flag corp. I am the oldest; Suzie is the youngest, spanning a 3 years difference. We are all Christians but members of different denominations. We lived scattered all over the school district & came from very different family backgrounds. Each of us have distinctly different personalities but somehow we meshed & became inseparable.
After high school, we each went our separate ways, managing to keep close through college. Once we started getting married & families of our own, we saw less of each other. Sure – there is the occasional email, Christmas card, or phone call but it just isn’t the same. Recently though, I have made a concerted effort to reconnect with my girls on a more regular basis. I joined Be a Queen , started by another high school friend, just for this purpose, creating our Queen group.
I see God’s Fingerprints in these women I call friends. I see His work, through them, all over my life. They have been there for me over the years whenever I needed them. I am so thankful for God bringing these 6 marvelous women into my life over 25 years ago.
