Weight Watchers update

I’ve been with Weight Watchers for 3 years now.  My life went to hell in a handbasket in 2011.  I realized I needed to lose weight, improving my overall health so I would be around when Charlie grows up. It has been a rocky road. I lost approximately 20 pounds but gained 15 of it back in the past 2 years. Of course I have had a LOT of stuff going on emotionally, mentally, and physically during this time frame.

Two weeks ago was the 3rd anniversary of my husband’s death and funeral. I had lost 6 pounds prior to that, getting down to 211 pounds. That weekend I ate 2 boxes of Little Debbie cakes and a whole bag of Brachs Mellowcreme Pumpkins. I pretty much stayed in bed the whole weekend as well. So I was not surprised to find out I had gained 5.4 pounds back when I weighed in that Monday. I posted about my weight gain on Facebook.

My sister-in-law Irene called me Tuesday, Oct. 27th, to challenge me to lose 5 pounds by November 12th when we go to the Nutcracker Market. The Houston Nutcracker Market is an annual event for all of us White girls.  Challenge accepted!

Weigh in days for me are Monday nights. This past Monday, Nov. 2, I was still at 215 pounds. On the positive side I hadn’t gained any weight but I did not lose any weight either. I have 1 week to lose 5 pounds. I have started exercising more and getting my daily steps back up to 8000. This weekend Charlie and I are headed to Dallas and the NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway. Weigh in will be Monday night as usual. Then again on November 12th just to double-check.
