>Today we received a letter in the mail announcing the permanent closing of Lil’ Saints, the Mother’s Day Out program our son attends. This is totally out of the blue! We knew there was a Vestry Board meeting with the Diocese last week. We were all under the impression that a Summer program was being discussed, not the school’s closing.
Charlie has attended Lil’ Saints for 2 years now. It has worked wonders for his speech and social skills. He enjoys going daily and seeing his friends. Charlie is excited about moving up to Miss Linda’s big kid class next year, Pre-K.
I knew enrollment was down but never expected this! I know running a daycare is expensive, even only part time, but never expected this!
Now I have to scramble to find a Pre-K program for Charlie this fall. The biggest problem will be that most of the Mother’s Day Out and other similar programs are already booked for the fall. I have started a list of day cares and other MDO programs to contact tomorrow and Friday.
We only need part time classes, 5 days a week, for Charlie since I only work part time. We can’t afford to pay full time day care when Charlie will only be there part of the day. That is the beauty of Lil’ Saints and other similar MDO programs. Classes are from 8:30am – 2:30pm with options for 2 days, 3 days, or 5 days attendance.
ARGH! This totally stinks!
