Well I have officially committed myself. I submitted my application to University of Florida for their graduate program. I’ve ordered a copy of my official transcript from Howard Payne University. The admissions application said that references or letters of recommendation are optional which I find weird. I have submitted 2 references but am debating on adding a third.
I did submit my application incomplete but I understand that is the norm nowadays. Both the admissions counselor and several parents of college bound students assured me that turning in your essay later is perfectly acceptable. So now all I need to do is write my 400-500 word essay to go with the application. My FAFSA (financial aid) information has already been submitted as well. The deadline for turning everything in is July 1st. I’m well ahead of that so far.
I’m applying for entry into the Masters of Arts in Mass Communications specializing in Social Media. It is an online program which works for me and my life. Social Media is something I enjoy and I am pretty sure I’d enjoy working for a company handling various aspects of their social media programs. It’s part of the College of Journalism at U of FL.
Now I’m a nervous wreck about getting my essay completed and turned in. Then focus my paranoia on getting accepted.
