Germany

We had a very short visit with family in Frankfurt on our way to South Africa. The layover in Frankfurt was approximately 10 hours so instead of sitting in the airport or Luxx Lounge we got to visit with Robert’s cousins. YAY!

It was so nice to see Shane, Dani and the kids. Since they live in Germany we don’t get to visit with them often. It was WONDERFUL to be able to get out into the fresh cold air and walk around for a bit too. Shane took us to Hessenpark, a cool living history type outdoor museum. It is built from old buildings saved from demolition and moved to create the park. These buildings were taken apart by hand, moved in pieces and reassembled by hand! WOW! All the buildings were from the 1600-1700s.

If you are ever in the Frankfurt area, I recommend you visit Hessenpark. Despite the cold dreary weather the park was really neat and the boys enjoyed it. During the spring and summer there are all types of cool things going on according to their website.

Thank you Shane and Dani for picking Charlie and me up and taking us to Hessenpark. We enjoyed spending the day with you and the boys. See you in January!
