>Last week I invited my sister and her boys over to dye Easter Eggs with Charlie. At first she was like “they won’t understand what it is” and “they have no clue about Easter” and I was like “um, I wouldn’t expect them to know about dyeing Easter eggs” and “it will be fun” along with some truly spectacular eye rolling on my part.
So David and Michael came over today after school to dye eggs with Charlie. Charlie was so excited! It was major drama this morning as he picked out the perfect t-shirt to wear for when his new cousin came over. Charlie didn’t even ask to play at the playground after school insisting we go home right away so we would be there then they got there.
I hard boiled 18 eggs for 3 boys. It didn’t take long for Michael and David to figure out what to do. Charlie, the old pro, demonstrated and they jumped right in with gusto! Rachael freaked out a tad bit over the mess but like I told her, that’s why there is a plastic tablecloth on the table.
There was about 15 minutes of serious work dyeing Easter eggs. Once the eggs were dyed, some multiple times with multiple colors, and dried then it was sticker time!
After all the egg-citement of coloring Easter Eggs was over, then it was time to play. All the boys played with the Hot Wheels at first. Then the Kung Zhus were brought out and hoo boy were David and Michael fascinated by them.
Charlie will be coloring Easter Eggs again on Friday, this time with his cousins on Hubby’s side of the family. This time there will be about 8 kids ranging from 11 years old to 2 years old. It was tons of fun for the kids last year.
Personally, I’m Easter Egged out.
