Hubby Update

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a Hubby update.

Chemo is going well. The only major side effect is a sensitivity to cold, especially in drinks. There have been a few days where Hubby complains about feeling queasy. If he takes his anti-nausea medicine it goes away.  (imagine that)

Two weeks ago his Alkaline levels had spiked to 179 which caused some concern with Dr. C about the possibility of gall stones.  Hubby’s ultrasound came back clear of gall stones.  His alkaline levels are dropping back down. Dr. C thinks it maybe one of the drugs in the chemotherapy cocktail.

Chemo was scheduled for this week but Hubby’s platelets are too low at 60,000. 100,000 is the preferred levels but chemo can be done with platelets as low as 80,000.  More lab work done on Friday and next Monday we’ll know if Hubby is cleared to resume chemo next Tuesday.

We are 8 chemo sessions in so far. Another PET scan is due next month which will give us a better idea of how the cancer is reacting to the chemo.

Hubby plans on taking a break over the summer to have his Ileostomy reversed. Dr. C wants to have the spot on Hubby’s liver removed surgically.

Thank you for all your prayers. I know they are making a difference.

Elizabeth
