I am very slowly making progress in unpacking all the boxes in my house. I am purging as I unpack. I’m also concentrating on finding a place to put items, a home for them.
I am a sentimental pack rat. I come from a long line of pack rats on both sides of the family. I had a LOT of boxes. Still have a LOT of boxes to unpack. Every room in the house has a stack of boxes. I am also a clutterer by nature. Those 2 forces are working against me but I am plowing through!
Part of my slowness is the purging. I have taken multiple bags and boxes to donation centers. I’ve taken books, puzzles, and board games to Half Price Books. The other part of my slowness is trying to find a permanent home for some things such as files and paperwork. Unfortunately not everything is boxed together and I’m still finding bits and pieces here and there as I open each box.
On the positive side, the family room is pretty much unpacked and set up. I still need to hang photos back on the walls but otherwise it is pretty much complete. Charlie’s bedroom is pretty much unpacked as well. I still need to hang a few photos, plug in his alarm clock, and night light. My bedroom is partially done as well. The 2 biggest areas left are my office and the dining room. My goal is to have all the boxes unpacked at least by Thanksgiving. I want to have everything in its place by the end of the year. It is an ambitious goal for me!
You can do it!
Thanks. I can tell I’m already heading into a depression downslide but am trying to power through it. Today I’m cleaning out more stuff at Dad’s house.
