Heading Home

Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are lovely and I wish we had more time to explore. I told Dad we should come back up here and spend more than just 1 day. I’d love to visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and do more sight-seeing. I had a too short but awesome visit with a friend I hadn’t seen in over 30 years! We picked up like the missing time never existed. Thank the Lord for friends like Julie!!!

I enjoyed Dollywood. Charlie was sort of Meh about it. He doesn’t like rollercoasters and other rides very much. Too cautious in nature. We did ride the bumper cars twice.

Charlie insisted that we visit the Hollywood Car Museum in Gatlinburg. It features vehicles from a variety of TV shows and movies. These are the ACTUAL cars used during filming and the inventory rotates every now and then. I’m pretty sure Charlie took pictures of every car there. I had to explain what and who half of these movies, actors and TV shows are/were which depresIsed me.

I’m a parental failure since Charlie didn’t even know who the Flintstones are!

We are driving back today. It will be a loooooong trip in the car! Charlie has school tomorrow plus 2 doctor appointments. His cough is worsening and I think it’s moved from a cold to upper respiratory infection. Being up here in the mountains has pushed our seasonal allergies over the edge which isn’t helping matters much.

I am battling ALL THE FEELINGS with our anniversary on Saturday. Plus this was the beginning of Robert’s downward spiral last year. Please keep me and Charlie in your prayers.

Enough blathering on….time to get dressed, load up the car and head out!

  2. You and Charlie are very much in my thoughts.

Make a list of movies/TV shows that Charlie needs to watch before your next trip to Gatlinburg!

  3. I loved getting to visit with you too. Meeting your little man. He is sooo stinking cute!! Wish we had had more time to visit. I think we talked a hundred miles an hour… I was hoarse by the time I got home. LOL Would definitely love to have you up when Zeke graduates next Spring. Will be praying for you as the week gets under way and that God would give you a peace that is unlike anything you could have imagined. Fall straight into the arms of your village. I know they are there, willing and able to support you during this time. See ya in the funny pages i.e. Facebook.

  4. So glad you were able to catch up with your friend – I do love relationships like that. And as for the rest, you are in my thoughts.
