On the positive side….

Today Hubby was downgraded and will be able to move to a regular room as soon as one becomes available. What is it about holidays and people dying or needing to be in the hospital? I swear every stinkin’ holiday the hospital is always full and compassion calls at work increase.

The ventilator tube was removed around 12:30pm on Tuesday. The Foley catheter was removed this morning.  Hubby sat up for about an hour this morning and then made 1 lap around the ward.

Our preacher came by yesterday and again today. Several friends from church as well as extended family stopped by to visit as well.

Hubby will most likely be in the hospital through the weekend. I don’t know much beyond that right now.

Charlie spent the day with my sister and her family. Thankfully she was off school already and able to help out. Dad is sick with some sort of crud so it is better that our contact with him is minimal so we don’t take any germs to the hospital.

Plans for tomorrow still involve eating out. Although my dad did say “now we can eat Chinese” since Hubby won’t be joining us. He doesn’t like Chinese food so I don’t get to eat it unless I’m with Dad or eating by myself. We will definitely be visiting Hubby as well. Thankfully the ICU nurses have been really good about letting Charlie in to visit even though he’s not 12 years old.

That’s about it for now. I did get some decent sleep last night. It took 2 sleeping pills, a muscle relaxer and some Melatonin but I was out by 9:30pm. I never did make it to the grocery store.
