Lulu’s Doggy Pedigree DNA Results

Since I previously had Ruby and Max’s doggy DNA tested, I figured I should get Lulu’s done as well.

I bought the test 4-5 years ago. I put it up and of course forgot about it. Then I couldn’t remember where I put the darn kit and only found it again a few weeks ago. It is similar to Wisdom Panel kit I had purchased for Ruby and Max.

Lulu’s doggy pedigree results weren’t surprising. She is 53% Labrador Retriever. We figured that much based solely on her appearance. The next biggest percentage is 13% American Pit Bull Terrier, followed by 8% Chow Chow. The rest is much smaller percentages. Breeds include Weimaraner, Golden Retriever, Flat-Coated Retriever, American Eskimo Dog, German Shephard, Chinese Shar-Pei, Doberman Pinscher, German Shorthaired Pointer, and American Staffordshire Terrier.

The 8% Chow Chow explains why Lulu is super fuzzy! I expected to have lots of shedding since Labs have double coats but Lulu is super fluffy and sheds massively. She doesn’t like to take the time to be brushed when she could be chasing a tennis ball. Lulu isn’t fond of baths either. True to the Labrador Retriever breed, she hasn’t met a puddle she doesn’t love! Try to put Lulu in the tub and you have a struggle on your hands.

No matter what Lulu’s doggy pedigree is, we love her still the same. Fancy will be the next pet to have her doggy pedigree DNA tested. It will most likely be sometime next year though.
