>I sound like Minnie Mouse

>It started this past Friday with a tickle in my throat. I figured it was just drainage from allergies since it is spring here in the Houston area. Trees are budding, flowers blooming, mold and mildew growing. By Friday night however my voice was almost gone and I had started coughing.

Saturday I helped my sister all day at the concession stand she was running as an adoption fundraiser. Neither she nor I checked the weather forecast and since it was warm (70 degrees) when we left our houses around 5am we were both in shorts, tshirts and tennis shoes. By 7am it had dropped to about 40 degrees, started raining and was extremely windy. I don’t think it got above 40 degrees all day. On top of that the sun never came out and the wind never died down.  One thing for sure, the coffee sold really really well!

My voice was definitely kaput by the time we were done that afternoon. I went home and crashed. Sunday wasn’t much better except I was coughing more and felt like I had been run over by a fleet of Mac trucks. By Sunday night Hubby told me I needed to call in sick for work Monday morning.

I work in a call center, even though I work from home, but my job is still basically talking on the phone the entire shift. If the passengers can’t hear me or understand me, there is no point in me working.

Hubby so graciously pointed out that passengers would not be able to understand me since I sounded like Minnie Mouse.

According to my doctor, today I sound like Kermit the Frog instead of Minnie Mouse.

I’m surrounded by comedians. Har-dee-dee-har-har.
