>Or not as it actually turned out. Friday was my 42nd birthday. I started the day by getting up at 3am to start work at 4am. Then I discovered around 11am that my Dad had gone to the ER around 2:30 that morning with chest/heart pain. He had texted me at 3:30am knowing I’d be up but I didn’t receive the message. He called my cell about 10:30am & left voice mail.
I didn’t get that message either. Guess why? Hubby has a nasty habit of turning my cell phone off when he plugs it in to charge. I have explained repeatedly why this is NOT a good idea but it falls on deaf ears. Yes, it is my fault for not checking my phone earlier in the day & I take full responsiblity for that. However, I sincerely hope that Hubby has finally gotten my messge after this fiasco to Never turn my cell phone off.
So I scrambled to get off work on short notice. Huge thank you to my supvervisor! Dad was doing okay when I finally made it to the hospital. He hadn’t seen a cardiologist yet though. I discovered the one his GP recommended doesn’t do hospital rounds. What kinda doc doesn’t do hospitals??? So I once again started calling around but every single office was closed for lunch. I declare I was fit to be tied!! Thankfully my sister showed up a little bit later. She is much less likely to go nuclear like I do when frustrated!
Hubby, Kiddo & I ate dinner at Luby’s which was not my choice but convenient. Then it was home to bed for everyone.
Yippy Skippy! Another year older…..
