>Fingerprint Friday

>There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it’s true
You’re a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you’re covered with the fingerprints of God

This is a partial repost from March of 2009. I’ve updated it to reflect some of this week’s fingerprints in my life. It constantly amazes me how often God touches my life, if I take the time to listen to Him and look.

Hubby’s brother-in-law’s father died this past week while visiting family here. He was from Buffalo, NY and will be buried there next Wednesday. While discussing funeral/memorial service plans, travel plans, and other stuff with my sister-in-law I thought back to other funerals I have attended in my life. If you have never been to a non-Christian funeral – let me tell you – they are truly depressing!

The first one I attended was while I was in high school. Our band director’s wife died after a long battle with cancer. They were firm atheists. That was the first funeral I had ever attended that had no hope, no celebration to it. All the other funerals had been family and a celebration of their going to Heaven and our joy to see them and our Savior together one day.

The funeral I went to in March 2009 the preacher kept talking about the hope of going to heaven when you die. It was if he didn’t know if he’d end up in heaven with God when he dies. I find that unsettling. I firmly believe & know with all my heart & soul that I have a place prepared for me in Heaven. I don’t have to hope or wonder. God provided the way through his Son Jesus Christ and all I had to do was to accept His wonderful gift of salvation.

That is God’s Fingerprint in my life for this week. Reaffirming my faith and reminding me that I am one of His, redeemed through His death and resurrection.
