>Fall Decorating

>I will be the first person to admit I am a lousy decorator. I have no sense of style at all! I can’t look at decorative accessories and see what goes together or not, I’m lousy with picking colors, and do not have a defined sense of what my “style” even is. Well, unless you call the messy, lived in, cluttered look a “style”.

Over a month ago I wrote about making this cute hurricane vase. I didn’t come up with the idea myself. I copied it from The Thrifty Decor Chick, who got the idea from someone else, and so on, and so on.

I finally got around to buying some filler for the vase. I dug out the few fall decorations I bought last year. I dusted the mantel and den because there is no point in decorating if the room is dirty and icky. So here is my hurricane vase with the autumn filler in it – basically some decorative leaves and gourds.

I draped a fall leaf garland on the mantel and added some fall looking candles to the candle holder. I put the wooden pumpkin up there to try to balance the hurricane vase. The picture needs to be moved as it just doesn’t look right to me right there. The fireplace is huge. I need something big hanging up above the mantle but just have no clue what exactly it needs.
