>Today my sister and I will once again be operating the concession stand at the BVARC Greater Houston Hamfest at the Ft. Bend County Fairgrounds. Just like last year the money raised will go towards Rachael and Chris’s Russian adoption fund.
You can read the latest updates on their blog, Sanity is Optional in Texas. Rachael and Chris are actually leaving on Monday, March 7th, for Russia. They will be finalizing the adoption of 2 little boys (brothers) ages 2 and 4. It is a quick trip there and back on the 11th. They will not be seeing the boys on this trip. Both of them flew to Russia in September to meet the boys and decide if they were a match or not. Approximately 2-3 weeks after coming home, they will go back to pick up the boys and get their US documents from the Embassy in Moscow. I don’t know all the ins and outs but apparently that is the way Russian adoptions go.
So if you are in Sugar Land, Missouri City, Richmond/Rosenberg or Katy area, feel free to stop by the Ft. Bend County fairgrounds today. We will be there from 6am – 1pm. We would love to see you!
