>As I mentioned before, we had to remove the large tree in our backyard last year. I have since put out 3 different bird feeders in the backyard to encourage our local bird life to visit. Of course this means the squirrels visit too. Charlie loves watching for the different birds to come and visit our feeders. He is constantly asking me to identify the different birds for him.
Here are some photos of the cardinal that visits our backyard. They were taken in the rain and through my office window screen.
The cardinals are my favorite visitors. Mamaw (paternal grandmother) loved cardinals and had several that lived in trees in her yard. I remember sitting out on the patio in the early mornings watching the birds while she drank her coffee. My dad does that as well. Now Charlie and I watch them from our kitchen window in the mornings.
