We made it finally

I wonder how many divorces are caused by famiy road trips? Especially when the husband thinks he knows more than he really knows? And drives slower than molasses.

Hubby and I have 2 different approaches to road trips apparently. His is to leave late and get there late. Mainly because he believes he should get to sleep late while on vacation. (Ongoing discussion for years now) I am of the opposite belief; get up early and arrive early.

Anyhow we finally made it to NASCAR country. The only thing we did today was see the North Carolina Auto Racing Walk of Fame. It is a tribute to the 13 inductees to the NC Auto Racing Hall of Fame. The men chosen represent the best of the best in auto racing, not just NASCAR.

The markers feature checkered flags along with a steerig wheel. The driver’ s photo plus the number of career wins are there along wth their name and year of induction into the Hall of Fame. New markers will be added yearly.

I took photos but my camera card does not fit the slot in my Nook Color (which I am using to type this post). I am pretty darn proud of myself for figuring this out.

Tuesday we are heading out to tour the Race team shops and Charlotte Motor Speedway. Charlie is very excited. His list of teams is a mile long and we keep saying No to most of it. Wednesday is the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

  2. Road trips are fun at the start. But the longer you go the harder it gets (including your buttocks!)
