>USS Midway In San Diego

>Yesterday we arrived in sunny gorgeous San Diego. We’re not staying at the conference hotel but the Sheraton isn’t too far away. The view from our hotel room balcony is stunning!

Once we got into our hotel room (yay for early check in!) Hubby and I changed into more comfy clothes and off we went to find somewhere to eat lunch. I was Starvin’ Marvin! We ended up in the Historic Gaslamp Quarter at the Old Spaghetti Factory for lunch. The food was good and service was quick, which was good because we were parked at a meter with only a 1 1/2 hour time limit. Hubby and I had to scrounge to find change for the meter!
After lunch the 3 of us drove to the USS Midway Museum. The audio tour is quite nice and included in the admission cost. Charlie did the kid’s version with a question and answer sheet. Once he finished all the questions, Charlie got a pair of commemorative wings. They are pretty cool if I do say so myself!

Here are some of the photos I took of the ship. I could have spent hours wandering around but Charlie was getting bored. There are quite a few steep stairs so I’m pretty sure my knees will be aching tonight.

Today the 3 of us are headed to LegoLand. Thanks to MomConfessionals we scored a free child’s ticket for Charlie. With some other coupons I scrounged found we can go without totally bankrupting us. Charlie has been so looking forward to LegoLand and the water park.
BlogHer ’11 Registration opens at 3pm. The Evening at the Expo starts at 6pm. I’m headed there so I can spend some time wandering around, talking to the sponsors and different brands, picking up swag, and hopefully meet some online friends. This way I can focus more on the sessions on Friday and Saturday. That’s the main reason I came to the conference – to learn.
