Over the holiday weekend Charlie and I went to Splashway Waterpark with the Dotys. Much better than Schlitterbahn! Less crowded and cheaper. Very family friendly. It is about the same drive time as well.

We had so much fun I bought season passes for us. Splashway also has campgrounds so we might even take advantage of that one weekend.
