In 4th grade the Science Fair project was optional. It was not graded. That begs the question as to WHY would anyone even do it but then what do I know. This year 5th grade was required to participate and the completed project is graded. Charlie chose to work with a partner, Abel. The boys chose the topic Sink or Float for their project. They worked on preliminary steps over the winter holiday. The project was due January 26th. I realized this around 4:30pm on January 25th when another parent gave me a heads up. A quick text to other parents discovered I wasn’t the only parent just discovering this little tidbit.
The boys worked very hard on their project. They weighed every object, made graphs, measured water, and wrote everything out on the project board themselves. It was 9:30pm when Charlie and Abel finished. Charlie said their goal was basically to just get a passing grade. (sigh)
