My Favorite Winter Hand Cream – Medline Remedy with Olivamine

Houston is so humid the majority of the time that I don’t need to use hand lotion on a daily basis. Except in the winter, or what passes for winter down here, and only in the past 3 – 4 years. Just one of the perks of aging I guess. The humidity drops significantly and my hands go all “What the heck?” on me.

I have tried a variety of hand lotions and creams over the years. None have worked very well. My hands get chapped, cracked, and my nails get brittle. I don’t like having to constantly reapply hand lotion. It seems like I was doing it every 30 minutes.

Three years ago while Robert was in the hospital I discovered this little gem. The nurses used it on Robert’s skin. I instantly fell in love with it. It soothes my dry skin and keeps it that way for hours.

medline remedy with olivamine nutrashield hand lotion

This is a medical grade hand lotion by Medline. From their Remedy with Olivamine line it is Nutrashield with Silicone Blends. This lotion is non-allergenic and non-sensitizing.  I have not found it in any stores but it is available on Amazon.com. I admit it’s not cheap but I use it so sparingly a 4 ounce tube lasts me forever.

I highly recommend giving this hand cream a try if you have extremely dry skin. I have not found a single thing about this lotion that I dislike in the 3 years I have used it.
