Monkey Do Project Blog Ambassador

I am proud to announce that I am officially a Blogger Ambassador for the Monkey Do Project.  As I have mentioned before I am a MK (Missionary Kid).  My parents have always had a heart for missions and answered God’s calling when I was in 5th grade to work in Africa. As a family, helping others, both at home and internationally, was constantly emphasized.  My parents calling was Africa. My calling is more locally based. Scripture tells us to start at home and spread out from there (Acts 1:8).

The Monkey Do Project is a non-profit started by a friend I met online, Jackie Wilson. God has given her a heart for the people of Appalachia, the poorest region in America. Monkey Do Project is designed to help families and children with basic needs. Our mission statement is simple.

The Monkey Do Project works to assist the most distressed areas of the Appalachian region by feeding the entire being: physical, spiritual and emotional.  We are a nonprofit project that will donate the time and items needed to meet those basic physical, emotional and spiritual needs. We strive to be an ongoing “outreach” for the Appalachian community,  and help plant seeds of growth and change within the community—homes, schools, churches and businesses.

As a blogger I will be helping spread the word about this charity and it’s various needs and projects. I firmly believe in the Monkey Do Project and it’s people. There are many ways you can help out. Monetary donations are just one way and definitely needed. Other projects include donations of blankies, night-nights via Ella’s Project or Blessing Bags.

Currently Monkey Do Project has been asked to help out the Adams County Ohio Children’s Health Fair in August. We have committed to providing 2000 string backpacks filled with a book, healthy snacks, water, and other health related items. We also need Visa/MasterCard gift cards to help families pay for school supplies.  Any little bit helps!

If you are willing to donate just $26 a Monkey will be added to the path. In the grand scheme of things, 26 bucks is nothing to you but a week’s worth of food to someone else. Or if you know a business or own a business that would be willing to donate, please contact Jackie at jwilson@monkeydoproject.com. If you need more information, please ask!
