Memory Aprons

I saved this idea on Pinterest years ago. At the time I thought it was a cute, inexpensive way to make aprons; with an idea of possibly selling them at a craft show. You can pick up men’s dress shirts at thrift shops for very little money. Or even raid your husband/dad/boyfriend’s closet for some shirts.

I decided after Robert died to make aprons from some of his favorite shirts. I have plenty to make aprons for Robert’s sisters and nieces. I think is a nice way to keep part of him with us and a great way to memorialize him. I wish I had some of my dad’s shirts to make aprons from too.

I found the instructions very easy to follow. The hardest part is making sure your angled sides are even!  If you cut the sides of your shirt leaving the selvage seam it makes sewing a straight side hem easier.my life such as it is memory apron pinterest gift

I recommend using Scotchguard on the apron to help keep it nice longer. Overall I was extremely please how the aprons turned out. My sister-in-laws loved their presents!
