Holiday Recipes

I didn’t do as much baking this Christmas season as I usually do what with everything that was going on at the time. I’m okay with that.

I did manage to make a few things for the Cub Scout party and a friend’s Christmas Eve party. Two recipes I tried were new ones I found on Pintrest. The other is a favorite I discovered last year.  Sadly I didn’t manage to make my favorite recipe I discovered 2 years ago, Denise’s famous Mint Sugar Cookies. They are the bomb! My favorite part is that the cookies stay soft, even after decorating them. The past 2 years Charlie and I have made these cookies and decorate them. I just couldn’t get myself together this year for that.

One of my new recipes are the Grinch Cookies I found on Pintrest. These are basically chocolate chip cookies with mint chips and green food coloring.  I will probably make these for St. Patrick’s Day as well. They were a huge hit at Jackie’s house. In fact Jackie didn’t want to share!

The other new recipe I made was Eggnog Pie. I personally don’t like Eggnog but enjoy using it for baking. The pie was a hit at Jackie’s party as well.

My third go to favorite is Somer’s Candy Cane Cake over at Smell My Plate.  Somer has some awesome recipes over there. I encourage you to browse though the lists and try something.  I am like Somer in that I don’t decorate the cake with candy canes. I’ve also forgone the icing upon occasion. Angel food cake is one of my favorite desserts. This cake is also good for Valentine’s Day celebrations.

Sorry I don’t have pictures of any of the food. I thought I had taken some but couldn’t find any when I went looking. Oh well. The links will take you to my Pintrest  Holiday Recipes board and the original links for the recipes. None of these are mine. I’m not that creative when it comes to cooking or baking.

Enjoy!

Elizabeth

  2. I saw when you pinned the Grinch Cookies and added them onto my cookie list for next year, as long as I’m not destroyed sick again. They are super cute. Thanks for the shout out!

    • The cookies were yummy. I bet I/you could modify it with pink food coloring for Valentine’s Day too.

You’re welcome for the mention. I always refer back to the original source if I have it. 🙂
