I live in the Greater Houston area, the southwest side of town, in suburbia called Missouri City. As you have probably seen on the news Houston has been hit hard by torrential rains resulting in massive amounts of flooding. Being at sea level flooding tends to happen just about any time it rains; usually just in small localized areas. The past 2 weeks however are a different story all together!
Missouri City rarely floods. Bits and pieces, usually at intersections, will get high water but drain quickly. Dad’s house is just around the corner from me and the same thing over there.
Last Tuesday our power was out for almost 12 hours but that was all the “damage” we had.
There was extensive flooding in some of the local bayous but again, not anywhere near my house.
But the mosquitos! Oy vey!
