>Brought to you by the letter "N"….

>With sincerest apologies to Sesame Street – I bring you the Letter Bucket! What is the Letter Bucket you ask? Why, my dearest, it is exactly what it sounds like – a bucket with a letter (changes daily) on it. Each day the Letter Bucket goes home with a different child. He or she is expected to bring it back the next day filled with items that represent the assigned letter. Charlie came home with the letter “N” today.

This is our 2nd time with the letter bucket. Last time Charlie got the letter “B”. It was much easier to find items around the house that start with the letter B! N has got me stumped. We even got out Charlie’s Sesame Street ABC and 123, A Sesame Street Treasury of Words and Numbers book to see what things Sesame Street named starting with N. 3 items on 2 pages! That was it AND we had 2 of the 3 things listed. I can’t believe Sesame Street failed me!

So we started with super easy words – napkin, needle, nickel – things I knew I could find around the house. Charlie suggested NASCAR (a current fave) & picked out one of his NASCAR cars to go into the bucket. I turned to the Internet for assistance. Posting my dilemma on Facebook produced a slew of words beginning with N. Unfortunately, some were words I don’t have a physical item to go with; such as ninja. Charlie isn’t into action figures or heroes yet so no ninjas over here.

I cheated & printed out a picture of a nose along with a nest. We added a newspaper, needle nose pliers, notepad, nail polish, nail clippers & a necklace.

I wonder if I can get away with calling an orange a nectarine?
