At BlogHer ’11 I met many wonderful women. Some of the most special were during lunch at the Adoption Birds of a Feather table. I briefly met Aunt Becky from Mommy Wants Vodka. She runs a community blog. Band Back Together. It is unique in many ways, mostly because it talks about some tough subjects. Shedding light on the icky stuff in this world is a good thing. There are tons of educations resources there as well.
Anyhow, Aunt Becky stated they are always looking for contributors. I took her flyer but thought, not me. I’m not good enough. I don’t have a story to tell.
I finally got up the gumption to submit one of my posts. I sent in “Lost Birth Mother Contact” that I had written back in March this year. I did update it slightly adding that in October Family to Family confirmed they still had not heard from L.
On Saturday, November 19, it was posted on Band Back Together as part of National Adoption Day Adoption Carnival. You can read “Lost Birth Mother Contact” along with many other great stories from all points of view.
